Relic Believed To Be From Jesus’ Manger Returned To Bethlehem
A small piece of wood believed to be from Jesus' manger has made its way back to the Holy Land coincidentally just in time for Christmas.
According to cnn, the tiny relic arrived on Saturday at its permanent home in Bethlehem from Rome and is said to be a gift from Pope Francis.
"This is a special day because today we received the relic of the manger that Pope Francis offered as a gift to the custody of the holy land," said Fr. Patton.
The artifact dates back more than 2000 years and was sent to the Vatican in the seventh century. The original request was for the entire manger to be sent back to Bethlehem, but the Pope decided to send only a tiny portion of it instead.
