‘Jesus Shoes’ Infused With Holy Water Sell Out In 1 Minute
“I walk on water. But I ain’t no Jesus.” ~ Beyonce (Song: Walk On Water)
#AListers, who wants to walk on water? Well now you can...for $1425.
This, thanks to creative label #MSCHF, a Brooklyn-based company in charge of creating the popular customized Nike sneakers called “Jesus Shoes.”
According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the team chose to remix the Nike Air Max 97s by injecting holy water derived from the Jordan River in the Middle East and adorned with a steel crucifix. MSHF’s head of commerce, Daniel Greenberg, 22, was able to retrieve a gallon of the holy water from a friend who lives in Israel.
The expensive retail - which may not faze true sneakers fans who are known to cop Dior($1100) and Jimmy Choo ($3995) at premium prices - was inspired by bible verse Matthew 14:25 which describes Jesus walking on water.
The shoes went on sale at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and all two dozen pairs were sold out by 11:01 a.m. Look at the Lordt 🙌🏾
I would definitely rock a pair of these, but the way my wallet’s set up...God told me to hold off. For now 😐.
