Get Well Soon: Bernie Sanders Undergoes Emergency Heart Surgery
Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders’ has had to pump the breaks on his campaign after undergoing emergency heart surgery.
According to TMZ, Sanders was at a campaign event Tuesday in Vegas when he began experiencing chest pains. It’s uncertain whether he was taken to a doctor's office or a hospital but wherever he ended up, tests revealed he had a blockage in one of his arteries.
Surgeons inserted 2 stents to clear the blockage. The 78-year-old Senator is resting in the hospital and campaign events over the next few days have been cancelled.
Sander's senior adviser, Jeff Weaver, said, "We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates."
Bernie is the oldest of the remaining Democratic candidates with Joe Biden coming in second at 76. Donald Trump is 73.
